A new website has been launched to showcase the national Value in Health programme in Wales. The vision is to work collaboratively with organisations to improve the health outcomes that matter most to the people of Wales. NHS Wales Informatics Service (NWIS) is actively supporting the programme through the development of information products and analysis, bringing together nationally collected data from patients, clinical outcomes , patient reported outcomes and financial costing to inform a value-based approach to service transformation and sustainability. The website was officially launched following the recent ‘Value in Health’ week (12th-16th October 2020), where two new data dashboards also made their debut. Sally Cox, Principal Specialist (Information) at NWIS presented the dashboards at the event. She said: “The Information Services Value Based Health Care team released two more data dashboards for the national Value in Health team as part of ‘Value in Health Week’: The Heart Failure dashboard and the Knee Arthroplasty dashboard. The dashboards have been produced for clinicians, health board planners, managers and service users to support direct care, service planning and quality improvement. “This release marks the first phase of these dashboards and it is hoped that these dashboards will evolve and be steered by the expert reference groups going forward.”
Please note: The dashboards are available collectively to all within the NHS. Expert users and those with the required access can access more detailed versions of the dashboards through requesting access via their Head of Information or Caldicott Guardian.
