Freedom of information

The Freedom of Information Act entitles you to request access to information that is held by any public authority such as NHS Wales Informatics Service (NWIS).

Anyone can request information – there are no restrictions on your age, nationality or where you live.

An organisation could refuse your request if the information is sensitive or the costs are too high.

Publication Scheme

To assist the public in accessing such information in compliance with FOIA, a public authority such as NWIS, is required to publish certain information proactively. NWIS is hosted by Velindre NHS Trust who have developed a Publication Scheme; a guide to the information routinely published by Velindre NHS Trust.
