Our Information Services team is developing a portal that will be the single point of access for our health and care intelligence products and data.
The new Welsh Health and Care Intelligence Portal (WHCIP) will be the central place to access data tools like the Primary Care Information Portal, Welsh Government Information Portal, Welsh Health Data Mart and Health Maps Wales. It will also allow access to products and services currently being developed.
Once implemented, the portal will be regularly updated and improved with releases of new functionality, based on user requirements. The portal will also host a data extract service and set out clear processes for new information services requests. WHCIP also has to the potential to provide access to data from the National Data Resource, currently being developed, that will bring together patient data using common language and technical standards.
WHCIP is scheduled to be available in Welsh health boards and trusts this summer.
