Quality is a key strategic aim of NHS Wales Informatics Service and is embedded in to the organisation by working to recognised industry best practice models and methodologies. The framework for these is the Integrated Management System (IMS) which lists the policies, plans and procedures that state what work needs to be done, by who, & how to do it. These are the quality standards for the organisation.
With these in place, the quality of our services and operational practices can be externally verified e.g. by certification to ISO standards, and by other external auditors e.g. Wales Audit Office.
We have achieved certification of the following International Management Standards:
